mismatched patterns

I have read (although now that I want to link I cannot find where - probably a link from pinterest somehow) that mismatched patterns are the trend in fashion right now.

While I don't consider myself to be one who really keeps up with such things, now that I saw it, I'm wondering, do I dare pair these two pieces together?

(after ironing of course!)

Would you?

Hmmm!First of all I love the skirt. Very pretty! I do know that for little girls mismatched fabrics are very trendy. And if that were an outfit for one of my girls I WOULD put it together. I don't know if I would wear it or not, but I do think that it does go together. Take a look at www.matildajaneclothing.com for some examples of mismatched fabrics for girls.

I think because the polka-dots are so small on the shirt you could probably pull it off....two larger prints I wouldn't do on an adult.

I completely agree with Jenni... it's all about the print sizes. Yes, I think you could swing this combination. Do you have a green handbag or some green shoes that you could use to tie the whole ensemble together?! If you wear it post a photo of yourself.

Cristen, who works at Anthropologie which is known for its unusual combinations of patterns, says it works great. And pink and orange are hot fashion colors now, so go for it!
