maybe . . .

it's time to get one of those fancy dancy glue gun stand things.

Do you have any fun glue gun accessories?

No baby news overnight.

Thought about biking to breakfast this morning.  Decided it's probably not the *best* idea.

Driving the car, parking a little bit away and getting a good walk in is probably more the ticket.

fun mail

Several weeks ago I got a really fun package in the mail from my friend Erin.  Lots of pink everywhere you looked including these vellum polka dots scattered throughout!

Most of my photos as I was opening it didn't turn out that great but this one did!  Cutie, cute socks in three different sizes!  How great is that?!

We went to Burger King (which David kept calling King Soopers - the Kroger equivalent grocery store chain here!) for dinner and to a new to us local ice cream joint, Rizuto's for ice cream!  I totally splurged and got a sundae!

AND yea for there being coupons for both in the Entertainment Book!  A night out for our family for only $17 total!

Oh except the car wash we got on the way home.  But we have been putting it off a LONG time and not only do we have a clean car now but it was great entertainment to a small boy!

And honestly, the rainbow colored soap intrigued me as well.  :)

So another random fact:

One of the reasons I'd like to avoid an iv if possible at the hospital is because I don't like having all of that gunky gray adhesive residue on my arm for days and days.  Silly?

And yet here I am glue gunning up a storm in these days before delivery and I have hot glue all over me.  :)

On another note, what are you doing this Easter weekend?

I had kind of written off Easter weekend festivities thinking I would be in the hospital.  I stuffed plastic eggs and sent them and a  "hunting basket" for David home with my mom and filled David's Easter basket and stuck it in the top of our closet for safe keeping/hiding weeks ago.  But since I'm not yet in labor and I have regained confidence to leave the house I am wondering if we'll take David to the thing at our church tomorrow and go to church on Sunday and brunch at dinnertime (after kiddos get naps) at my parents' in the evening.

Who knows?!

If we do go to church I need to get flowers to take since we're putting them in crosses.

Okay, I also need to go to bed.

Have a good night and a wonderful Easter weekend!

baby girl shower hostess gift

The ladies who hosted our baby shower were so sweet and over the top generous in their "going all out" for me.  It was a lot of fun.

So, of course, being from the south (I hear it's not done here so much) I wanted to have some nice hostess gifts.

A quick search on pinterest got the wheels turning and led to this.

Some specialty cinnamons and spice blends from my favorite spice shop downtown and some "sugar" in the form of candies in girly colors.

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice!

baby news:  nothing yet

This morning I was grumpy.  Tired.  Disheartened.

Adrian suggested getting out of the house would probably do David and I both good but for whatever reason I was scared to leave the house.

My sweet brother who is on spring break changed his plans with his boys so that they could come and meet us at a playground near our house and we got to sit and enjoy the gorgeous weather and talk while the boys had a blast playing for over two hours.

I think I'm cured of my "scared to leave the house-itis" and now I want to go out for ice cream tonight.  :)

I'm trying to pack in my dairy consumption because if this sweet girl is allergic to dairy like her brother is, it is going to be one long year of not eating it while nursing.

If you live or know the Springs, do you have a favorite ice cream place here?  You know what really sounds good?  One of those ice cream sandwiches made with real cookies!  Yum!

Easter last year

I'm scheduling this post as I have no idea if we'll have a new baby right now or not.

I hope you have a very happy Easter weekend celebrating our Lord.

when one is looking for her paintbrush . . .

OF COURSE

She should look in the garbage truck!

I don't know why it took me so long.

*smile*

So yesterday there were FIVE blogposts in one day.

Today nothing so far which probably has some of you suspecting I'm in labor but not yet.

I've showered and shaved my legs and done laundry and folded laundry and (mostly) put away laundry and gathered some more laundry for my mom to do for me at her house because she offered!

I've eaten lunch with my husband while my mom had David.

I've sat outside in the sun a bit.

I've e-mailed with one of those friends I mentioned who was having a baby any day! She had her daughter yesterday and my friend who was having a c-section (it was yesterday, I was right) had her son.

I talked to my grandma on the phone and hung a new bunting I made last night for the nursery.

I moved the crib to better show off the crib skirt my mom and sil made.

I've prayed and journaled and taken time to be still and quiet.

I've enjoyed the feel of the cool floor of our sunroom beneath bare feet.

So I guess it's been a pretty busy day.

I keep finding myself wanting to scrapbook.

I've had the urge several times but the thought of dragging all of that stuff out just when I'm trying to get the house clean/work on projects related to baby and when I know that at any minute I could *be having a baby* makes me not want to commit.

I don't know yet what we're having for dinner but my sweet husband has been taking over a ton of that lately so hopefully we'll come up with a quick, easy, yummy plan.

I hope YOU'RE having a good day!

Do let me know what you're thinking and what you're up to!

I haven't left the house except for my dr. appt. on Tuesday since church Sunday so I'd love to hear what's up "in the outside world". :)

Take care!

four minute post*

four minute post:  for when seven minutes feels too long

I think I'm about to go take a nap.

David is actually, finally taking a nap today after not taking one the past two days.  Hooray!

I will admit to bribing with a food treat as well as a short Chuggington video and a short Boz video if he would take a real nap today.

I really enjoy building train tracks with him.  It's fun to come up with something new every time.

So people are starting to guess what day this little miss will arrive.

What do you think?

Today?

Tomorrow?

Good Friday?

Easter Sunday?  (I think this would be pretty cool.)

April Fool's Day?  (I hope not!)

I have another friend who is due any day and another friend whose scheduled c-section is today I think.  Lots of babies.  Oh and another girl at church who I'm just getting to know is due any day too.

My craft room is TONS cleaner than it was at the beginning of the week.  That is happy.

We are hiring a girl from church to come and clean while we are at the hospital.  I am super excited about that.

My wonderful husband put supper in the crockpot this morning.  That makes me super happy too.

And last night he made this amazing pasta with sausage and red bell pepper sauce.  YUM!

I had three helpings.  Plus salad, plus bread.  Yeah.

Okay, hope your day is going well.

Kelly

are you dying eggs this year?

This was us last year.  Cute boy!

I'm not sure that egg dying is going to happen around these parts this year.

Am I inundating you with enough posts right now?

Just want all who are curious to know that we do not have a baby here yet.  :)

I kind of like it.

Kind of funny - when I went to the dr. today I'd lost one pound!  I'll take it.  :)

seven minute post

As of now this is still the only baby outside of my belly.

He's doing a pretty good job of trying to fill in for his sister though, don't you think?

I am sitting here eating couscous and drinking a glass of milk.

I cannot. get. enough. to. eat!!!

I have gotten good naps the past two days which has been nice and is probably prepping me - hopefully not for another overnight labor like I had with David, but who knows.

hmm . . . what else?

Keeping busy.  Staying home.

Nesting.

Piddly things though.  nothing too major

am making a modified version of the embroidery hoop mobile

slowing down on laundry but it's mostly all caught up anyway so that's okay

spent a good part of the day on the phone with our pediatrician's office, etc.  who knew that there were so many logistics?  Don't people have new babies every day?  Why can't they make this all more streamlined and simple?

I *really, really* like the PA we see here but I found out today that we have to see one of the "real live" MD pediatricians in the practice at least until the 4 month appt.

One thing I miss about our pediatrician's office in Texas (besides the fact that it was within walking distance) was that they had well and sick entrances/waiting rooms.

I feel so boring tonight but did want to post something so no one would be left wondering if we had a baby yet.

Oh, one of Adrian's coworkers sent this today.

Funny, huh?

Okay, well seven minutes are up.

Talk to you later.

I'd love to hear what YOU'RE up to today!

Oh do leave a comment.

Thanks.

Kelly

exactly three years ago today :)

I am scheduling this a few days early.  Wonder if I'll be 38 weeks pregnant with this baby girl on March 25th like I was with David in this photo or if I'll already be holding a baby girl in my arms.

snow painting

This photo is actually from a few weeks ago but we did have snow again this weekend.

Crazy Colorado weather.

I keep preparing myself that even though this is another "spring" baby, we'll probably be bringing her home in a snowstorm since we live in Colorado this time and not Texas.

world water day!!

Today is World Water Day!

We talked about it here.  Remember?

Will you do me a favor and click on one of the links below.  I've included a lot here.  You have things to do.  I get that.  Just one link and check it out.
Thanks!!

I would love it if you would check out some of these links and consider giving a little of our abundance to help others.

This story is soo great!  You've got to check it out.

All photos from The Adventure Project - the great people hosting World Water Day today and MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Here is a GREAT explanation of it.

People don't want our handouts.  They want JOBS.  This provides them jobs, clean water, a package deal . . . teach a man or woman to fish . . .

More good info here

Mandy has some great raffles going on here and here with all the money going to fund CLEAN WATER in Uganda if you're interested!

If you feel so led you can donate here.

One more thing, if you don't read this today (Friday) please don't feel like it is too late!  This project is bigger than one day.  Whatever your heart finds to do, do it.  :)

oh and p.s. $150 has already been donated from our "circle" here.  Let's do even more.
Okay, happy weekend!

getting ready to be a GREAT big brother!

This was all his own idea to get a baby out, wrap it in his star blanket (he was very specific) and put it in his shopping cart.

This morning when I couldn't really do something he asked I said, "I won't have a big belly much longer.  Soon baby sister will be here." and he said, "I'm so excited!"  Music to this Mama's ears.

I've been working on the nursery (slowly but surely) and this morning he walked in first thing and said all on his own, "Baby Sister's room is BEAUTIFUL!"

I love this boy!

getting your opinion . . .

I really do love hearing from you guys what you think and why you think it.  It's a lot of fun.

So the question of the day . . .

should I make an embroidery hoop mobile like the one in the room above

or

with perhaps a strand of this sort of bunting thrown in

image from Paddington Way

or both hanging from the ceiling in the nursery?

so sweet

I am starting to get e-mails, texts and phone calls from you guys checking in on me, seeing if I've gone into labor or something.  :)

You are so sweet.

I will try to update the blog every little bit so you'll know we're still hanging in here but no promises as I'm busy nesting, trying to plan meals/cook ahead, etc. as well as

building SUPER long trains and elaborate train tracks!

We're having fun.

My boy is learning to count so high too.

He is *so* big and I know he is only going to seem even bigger when we bring a tiny little baby home.

These are good days.

Also, here's something you can chime in on.

I'm debating on whether or not to get a more girly pack and play sheet for baby girl.  It is totally a want *not* a need!  But in the end will I really care?

She will probably be sleeping in the pack and play in our room at first but then again, that was our plan with her brother too and he seemed to sleep better in his crib from the beginning so we ended up moving into his room with him (there was a full bed in the room) but with her there is not room for a bed for us in her nursery but her room is RIGHT by ours.

hmm . . .

We shall see.

Anyway, pack and play sheet . . .

what would you do?

We have this and this

and I am considering this or this.

Hope you're having a good one!

Travel Tuesday - Portland

Remember when we went to Portland (just the two of us!) last spring?

I never finished blogging it so here is another glimpse from our getaway.

This fun pool with sea lions was right by our hotel.

They are statues in case you were getting nervous for me.

These fun guys were right across from our hotel.

There was a lot of neat public art in Portland.
